Dupe Tutorial: UD Naked vs ELF Neutral Palette (Everyday Glam Look)

Tutorial: Amethyst Smokey Eyes (Maybelline Amethyst Smokes Quad)

Most of you know that I have recently graduated from Makeup School Chic Studios NYC.  So I have been practicing on models as much as possible.  On a recent trip to San Francisco, I gave my very dear friend Rebecca a little makeover.  

Rebecca is the Artistic Director of Music in May, an amazing violinist, and a wonderful friend.  She has been working so so hard to fund-raise for her organization Music in May that I decided that she needs a makeover so that she can look professional and beautiful for concerts and fund-raising events.   

Music in May is a chamber music series out in Santa Cruz, CA that brings together world class musicians.  I was fortunate to be part of the festival a few years ago (as you all know by now, I am a professional cellist).  But she needs lots of support to make something as special as Music in May to happen.  (Please consider making a donation to Music in May: http://www.musicinmay.org/support/)

I wanted to use most of the makeup that she already has, so that she can create the look herself.  

She has the Maybelline Amethyst Smokes Quad, so we used that to create her purple smokey eyes.

Step 1: Apply Eye Primer such as Urban Decay Primer Potion

Step 2: Apply the Lid Color to 2/3s of the lid leaving the outer lid untouched

Step 3: Apply the black color in the outer V

Step 4: Apply a neutral brown color in the crease (I used a brown color that Rebecca already had in her makeup collection)

Step 4: Use a smudge brush, apply the Crease color in the lower lash line. 

Step 5: Use the browbone color in the browbone area and in the inner corners of the eyes

Step 6: Use your darkest black eyeliner and rim you upper and lower waterlines.  Then put the black shadow on top to set.

Step 7: Apply a thin line with Mac's Blacktrack on the upper lash line

Step 7: Curl your lashes and apply mascara

Nicki Minaj Good Morning Amierca Tutorial!

You all found out what I do for a living finally!  I am a professional Classical Cellist, a Juilliard grad.  I was on Good Morning America performing along side with Nicki Minaj.  This was a really fun gig for me as I don't often play Pop.  I was able to see her makeup from just inches away!!  So I am able to recreate this look!  Also check out many pictures from Good Morning America below!

Spring Flowers Tutorial

I was inspired by the spring flowers that I found online which has lots beautiful colors including orange, pink, purple, yellow, and green. I am including that pictures.


To create my look, I used pretty much all DRUGSTORE products. I used Urban Decay's Primer Potion to start with, then used NYX's Jumbo Eye Pencil in Milk to set as a base before apply the shadows.

I used mainly LA Colors' "Wildflowers", and "Tease" Palettes, and NYC's City Duet Eyeshadow in "Upper Zest Side" to create this look. I used a mixture of yellows, pinks, oranges, and purples. I put yellows in the inner eye area, orange in the middle of the lid, and different shades of purples and violets in the outer corner as well as on my lower lash line.

I also used Wet n Wild's "Lust" highlight color to highlight my browbone. I used Wet n Wild's Mega Liner in 863 to line my upper lash line, and applied Wet n Wild's Coloricon Pencil in "Cool Green" the lower lash liner as well as waterline.

For Blush, I used Milani's "Luminous". For lips, I used Wet n Wild's matte lipstick in 903C. For Mascara, I used Maybelline Pulse Perfection.

OK, so I usually just post videos here, but I want to start writing now! Are you ready? Here's my first FOTD! I am wearing the following:

I am not at all wearing any foundation! This look is more tamed for going to work. I like it a lot. It's natural and shimmery.

1) Apply the shimmery gold color from the middle of the lower row from the ELF Neutrals Back to School Palette all over lid.
2) Apply the matte neutral color from the upper right hand to the crease
3) Apply black in the outer V and blend into crease
4) Apply ELF Waterproof Eyeliner Pen in Black and wing it out just a bit
5) Apply Wet n Wild Coloricon Eyeliner in Turquoise in the lower eyeline .
6) Apply Maybelline the Falsies
7) Put a bit of blush with Milani Powder Mosaics in Sweet Cheeks
8) NYC Lipstick in Garnet all over lips
9) Apply The Body Shop Lipgloss 02 in the middle of your lips
10) Conceal as necessary with ELF All Over Stick. I didn't want to put foundation on today. Wanted to give my face a rest! LOL
